This artwork by Scott Burton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2014. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Two Part Bench: A Pair sold for USD 293,000.00 (€ 214,809.38) - well above the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Scott Burton; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Pair of Granite Chairs sold at auction in October 2007 with the realized price of GBP 156,500.00 (€ 224,744.30).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Scott Burton erzielte im Mai 2014 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Two Part Bench: A Pair für USD 293.000,00 (€ 214.809,38) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Scott Burton; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Pair of Granite Chairs im Oktober 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 156.500,00 (€ 224.744,30).
