This artwork by Scott Burton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2015. In the First Open/NYC auction, the work Two-Part Chair sold for USD 87,500.00 (€ 81,463.55) - well above the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Scott Burton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pair of Granite Chairs, which sold at auction in October 2007 for GBP 156,500.00 (€ 224,744.30).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Scott Burton erzielte im März 2015 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open/NYC wurde die Arbeit Two-Part Chair für USD 87.500,00 (€ 81.463,55) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Scott Burton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pair of Granite Chairs beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für GBP 156.500,00 (€ 224.744,30) versteigert wurde.
