Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (A Pair Of Tables) by Scott Burton for USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,939.18). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Curated featuring works from the Collection of Joni Gordon of Newspace Gallery at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Scott Burton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pair of Granite Chairs in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 156,500.00 (€ 224,744.30).
