Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2020 Bonhams in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Bench Table II by Scott Burton. The price achieved of USD 22,812.50 (€ 19,093.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Scott Burton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pair of Granite Chairs in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 156,500.00 (€ 224,744.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2020 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bench Table II von Scott Burton zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 22.812,50 (€ 19.093,15) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Scott Burton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pair of Granite Chairs im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 156.500,00 (€ 224.744,30).
