Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Unique Pair Of Cubes by Scott Burton was sold in the TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,116.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Scott Burton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pair of Granite Chairs in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 156,500.00 (€ 224,744.30).

Die Arbeit A Unique Pair Of Cubes von Scott Burton wurde im März 2018 in der Auktion TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.116,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Scott Burton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pair of Granite Chairs im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 156.500,00 (€ 224.744,30).
