In September 2014 Christies in New York held the auction First Open/NYC, which included the work Steel Furniture Set: Chair by Scott Burton. The »bidding war« ended at USD 22,500.00 (€ 17,817.55), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Scott Burton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pair of Granite Chairs in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 156,500.00 (€ 224,744.30).

Im September 2014 führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open/NYC durch, in der auch die Arbeit Steel Furniture Set: Chair von Scott Burton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 17.817,55) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Scott Burton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pair of Granite Chairs im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 156.500,00 (€ 224.744,30).
