In November 2012 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session, which included the work A Pair of Side Tables by Scott Burton. The result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 30,745.58) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Scott Burton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pair of Granite Chairs in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 156,500.00 (€ 224,744.30).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2012 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Pair of Side Tables von Scott Burton zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 30.745,58) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Scott Burton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pair of Granite Chairs im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 156.500,00 (€ 224.744,30).
