My work is about incisions and their effect, a very human topic from my point of view .
What kind of incisions cause what? To what extent do they (only) hurt or open up hidden inner, previously invisible facets? Do they lead to a first step into the new, more diverse, more complex? Or do they leave us lingering in rigidity? Comparable to life paths, the sculptures show the diversity, potential and complexity that arise in change due to incisions.
Base for the works are always “simple” forms like plates and blocks, opened through incisions into complexity, into the outer space, revealing their inner spaces.
This creates a range of cuts, opening and transformation - from strongly moved to the focus on the incision - depending on the material, among other things. I work with bronze, steel, clay, paper and wood.
