Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Divan by Scott Burton. The price achieved of GBP 46,850.00 (€ 59,716.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Scott Burton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pair of Granite Chairs, which sold at auction in October 2007 for GBP 156,500.00 (€ 224,744.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Divan von Scott Burton zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 46.850,00 (€ 59.716,94) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Scott Burton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pair of Granite Chairs beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für GBP 156.500,00 (€ 224.744,30) versteigert wurde.
