Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Let Your 'Freak Flag Fly' by Polly Apfelbaum was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 882.00 (€ 763.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Polly Apfelbaum achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rubbing Colours in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,230.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Let Your 'Freak Flag Fly' von Polly Apfelbaum kam im Oktober 2021 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 882,00 (€ 763,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Polly Apfelbaum erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rubbing Colours im Dezember 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.230,17).
