Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Contemporary Edition, which included the work Color Star by Polly Apfelbaum. The price achieved of USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,535.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Admittedly, works by Polly Apfelbaum have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rubbing Colours in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,230.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Contemporary Edition durch, in der auch die Arbeit Color Star von Polly Apfelbaum zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.875,00 (€ 1.535,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Polly Apfelbaum auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rubbing Colours im Dezember 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.230,17).
