Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Contemporary Edition, which included the work Durham Dogwood by Polly Apfelbaum. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,375.00 (€ 1,126.03) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Polly Apfelbaum have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rubbing Colours in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,230.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Contemporary Edition durch, in der auch die Arbeit Durham Dogwood von Polly Apfelbaum zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.375,00 (€ 1.126,03) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Polly Apfelbaum auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rubbing Colours im Dezember 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.230,17).
