Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2021 Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Yellow; Gray; and Color Wheel, from Color Field Notes by Polly Apfelbaum. The price achieved of USD 6,300.00 (€ 5,236.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Other works by Polly Apfelbaum have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2016 the work Rubbing Colours was auctioned for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,230.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2021 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Yellow; Gray; and Color Wheel, from Color Field Notes von Polly Apfelbaum zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.300,00 (€ 5.236,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Polly Apfelbaum konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Dezember 2016 die Arbeit Rubbing Colours für GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.230,17) versteigert.
