Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2019 Phillips in an online auction held the auction Phillips x Artsy: Wrapped/Unwrapped, which included the work Rainbow Love Mountain Ranch, New Mexico by Polly Apfelbaum. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,375.00 (€ 1,224.73) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Polly Apfelbaum have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rubbing Colours in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,230.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2019 führte Phillips in einer Online-Auktion die Auktion Phillips x Artsy: Wrapped/Unwrapped durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rainbow Love Mountain Ranch, New Mexico von Polly Apfelbaum zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.375,00 (€ 1.224,73) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Polly Apfelbaum auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rubbing Colours im Dezember 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.230,17).
