Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Xing Danwen could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work D1 (From Disconnexion Series) changed hands for USD 9,375.00 (€ 6,926.49) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Xing Danwen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Urban Fiction 3, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 10,200.00 (€ 15,136.29).
