Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work B1, B2, B3, B4, B5 (Set Of Five) by Xing Danwen was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 40,000.00 (€ 3,795.79). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Xing Danwen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Urban Fiction 3, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 10,200.00 (€ 15,136.29).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit B1, B2, B3, B4, B5 (Set Of Five) von Xing Danwen im Oktober 2013 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 40.000,00 (€ 3.795,79) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Xing Danwen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Urban Fiction 3 beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für GBP 10.200,00 (€ 15.136,29) versteigert wurde.
