In October 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Soliloquy by William H. Bailey. The result of USD 1,000.00 (€ 882.46) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William H. Bailey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Silent Plain in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 81,250.00 (€ 73,903.95).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Soliloquy von William H. Bailey zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 1.000,00 (€ 882,46) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William H. Bailey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Silent Plain im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 73.903,95).
