The work Silent Plain by William H. Bailey was sold in the American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2015. The »bidding war« ended at USD 81,250.00 (€ 73,903.95), 35% above the upper estimate. With this result, Silent Plain is even the most expensive work of art by William H. Bailey that we have observed at auctions so far.
