Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Monestevole by William H. Bailey was sold in the Bear Witness | #SothebysBearWitness auction at Sothebys in London in March 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 29,379.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William H. Bailey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Silent Plain, which sold at auction in May 2015 for USD 81,250.00 (€ 73,903.95).
