This artwork by John Cage achieved an unexpectedly high price at Grisebach in June 2019. In the Frühjahr 2019 - Third Floor auction, the work „Variations III 36“. sold for EUR 6,250.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Cage achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The First Meeting of the Satie Society in March 2011 with an auction result of USD 116,500.00 (€ 82,140.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Cage erzielte im Juni 2019 bei Grisebach einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Frühjahr 2019 - Third Floor wurde die Arbeit „Variations III 36“. für EUR 6.250,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Cage erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The First Meeting of the Satie Society im März 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 116.500,00 (€ 82.140,59).
