Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work New River (No. 14 from Watercolour Series lll) by John Cage was sold in the 20th/21st Century: Amsterdam auction at Christies in Amsterdam in April this year. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 18,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 18,900.00. Admittedly, works by John Cage have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The First Meeting of the Satie Society in March 2011 with an auction result of USD 116,500.00 (€ 82,140.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit New River (No. 14 from Watercolour Series lll) von John Cage wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th/21st Century: Amsterdam bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 18.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 18.900,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Cage auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The First Meeting of the Satie Society im März 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 116.500,00 (€ 82.140,59).
