Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Phillips in London held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work Global Village 1-36 by John Cage. The price achieved of GBP 1,651.00 (€ 1,921.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Cage achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The First Meeting of the Satie Society in March 2011 with an auction result of USD 116,500.00 (€ 82,140.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion Evening & Day Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit Global Village 1-36 von John Cage zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.651,00 (€ 1.921,48) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Cage erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The First Meeting of the Satie Society im März 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 116.500,00 (€ 82.140,59).
