Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work See America First (T. 2425-2444, A. & B. 14B-S) by H. C. Westermann. It changed hands for a price of USD 47,880.00 (€ 41,447.37) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by H. C. Westermann - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rosebud, which sold at auction in May 2016 for USD 137,000.00 (€ 123,035.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit See America First (T. 2425-2444, A. & B. 14B-S) von H. C. Westermann zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 47.880,00 (€ 41.447,37) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von H. C. Westermann mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rosebud beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für USD 137.000,00 (€ 123.035,47) versteigert wurde.
