Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work The Connecticut Ballroom (A. & B. 22B-H) by H. C. Westermann. The price achieved of USD 50,400.00 (€ 50,734.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by H. C. Westermann - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rosebud, which sold at auction in May 2016 for USD 137,000.00 (€ 123,035.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Connecticut Ballroom (A. & B. 22B-H) von H. C. Westermann zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.400,00 (€ 50.734,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von H. C. Westermann mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rosebud beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für USD 137.000,00 (€ 123.035,47) versteigert wurde.
