Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Autumn on Mohawk St: Chicago '67, 1978 by H. C. Westermann was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made In California auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in September last year. The price achieved of USD 4,080.00 (€ 4,170.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by H. C. Westermann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rosebud in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 137,000.00 (€ 123,035.47).

Die Arbeit Autumn on Mohawk St: Chicago '67, 1978 von H. C. Westermann wurde im September letzten Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made In California bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.080,00 (€ 4.170,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von H. C. Westermann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rosebud im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 137.000,00 (€ 123.035,47).
