Auction result well in line with expectations
In September last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made In California, which included the work Ex Boxer and a Death Ship, 1974 by H. C. Westermann. The price achieved of USD 6,375.00 (€ 6,516.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by H. C. Westermann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rosebud in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 137,000.00 (€ 123,035.47).
