Auction result well in line with expectations

The work La Torre Del Recién Nacido by Gonzalo Fonseca was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2018. It changed hands for a price of USD 118,750.00 (€ 101,756.64) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gonzalo Fonseca have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Madre Cava  in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 468,500.00 (€ 416,963.33).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit La Torre Del Recién Nacido von Gonzalo Fonseca wurde im Mai 2018 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 118.750,00 (€ 101.756,64) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gonzalo Fonseca auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Madre Cava  im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 468.500,00 (€ 416.963,33).
