Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Property from the Estate of Bernard Chappard Online, which included the work Untitled (April 26 1971) by Gonzalo Fonseca. The price achieved of USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,427.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gonzalo Fonseca achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Madre Cava in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 468,500.00 (€ 416,963.33).
