Auction result misses estimated price range
In September last year a collector was able to acquire this work without title by Gonzalo Fonseca for USD 65,000.00 (€ 66,441.79). This price was achieved in the auction Latin American Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Gonzalo Fonseca have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Madre Cava in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 468,500.00 (€ 416,963.33).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Gonzalo Fonseca für USD 65.000,00 (€ 66.441,79) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Latin American Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gonzalo Fonseca auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Madre Cava im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 468.500,00 (€ 416.963,33).
