Auction result well in line with expectations
The work SEVEN MARBLE PIECE ASSEMBLAGE by Gonzalo Fonseca was sold in the Latin American Art auction at Christies in New York in September this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 163,800.00 (€ 154,761.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gonzalo Fonseca - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Madre Cava , which sold at auction in May 2017 for USD 468,500.00 (€ 416,963.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit SEVEN MARBLE PIECE ASSEMBLAGE von Gonzalo Fonseca wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion Latin American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 163.800,00 (€ 154.761,90) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Gonzalo Fonseca mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Madre Cava beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für USD 468.500,00 (€ 416.963,33) versteigert wurde.
