Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Traveller by Duane Hanson was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2014. The price achieved of USD 245,000.00 (€ 179,618.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Duane Hanson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cowboy, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 428,400.00 (€ 399,217.22).

Die Arbeit Traveller von Duane Hanson kam im Mai 2014 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 245.000,00 (€ 179.618,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Duane Hanson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cowboy beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 428.400,00 (€ 399.217,22) versteigert wurde.
