Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Wood could be acquired at Phillips in New York in May 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Part II auction, this work without title changed hands for USD 600.00 (€ 446.00) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Wood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Young Officer, In Red Coat With Blue Collar, Gold Epaulette And White Cross-Belt With Gold Plate, Black Cravat in July 2005 with an auction result of GBP 11,400.00 (€ 16,535.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Wood konnte im Mai 2007 bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Part II wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 600,00 (€ 446,00) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Wood erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Young Officer, In Red Coat With Blue Collar, Gold Epaulette And White Cross-Belt With Gold Plate, Black Cravat im Juli 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.400,00 (€ 16.535,59).
