Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures, Part III, which included the work Portrait Of A Lady, Circa 1805 by William Wood. The price achieved of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,545.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by William Wood have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Young Officer, In Red Coat With Blue Collar, Gold Epaulette And White Cross-Belt With Gold Plate, Black Cravat in July 2005 with an auction result of GBP 11,400.00 (€ 16,535.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures, Part III durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Circa 1805 von William Wood zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.545,65) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Wood auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Young Officer, In Red Coat With Blue Collar, Gold Epaulette And White Cross-Belt With Gold Plate, Black Cravat im Juli 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.400,00 (€ 16.535,59).
