Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of Lavinia, Countess Spencer (1762-1831) by William Wood was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2019. It changed hands for a price of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,215.18) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Wood - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Young Officer, In Red Coat With Blue Collar, Gold Epaulette And White Cross-Belt With Gold Plate, Black Cravat, which sold at auction in July 2005 for GBP 11,400.00 (€ 16,535.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of Lavinia, Countess Spencer (1762-1831) von William Wood kam im Juli 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.215,18) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William Wood mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Young Officer, In Red Coat With Blue Collar, Gold Epaulette And White Cross-Belt With Gold Plate, Black Cravat beobachtet, die im Juli 2005 für GBP 11.400,00 (€ 16.535,59) versteigert wurde.
