Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait Of Major-General John Small (1726-1796), 1796 by William Wood was sold in the Part I auction at Sothebys in London in December 2018. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,266.75). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Wood - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Young Officer, In Red Coat With Blue Collar, Gold Epaulette And White Cross-Belt With Gold Plate, Black Cravat, which sold at auction in July 2005 for GBP 11,400.00 (€ 16,535.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of Major-General John Small (1726-1796), 1796 von William Wood wurde im Dezember 2018 in der Auktion Part I bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.266,75) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von William Wood mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Young Officer, In Red Coat With Blue Collar, Gold Epaulette And White Cross-Belt With Gold Plate, Black Cravat beobachtet, die im Juli 2005 für GBP 11.400,00 (€ 16.535,59) versteigert wurde.
