Auction result misses estimated price range
In November this year a collector was able to acquire the work Three Untitled Works on Paper each 15 x 11 1/2 in. (38.1 x 29.2 cm) framed 23 1/2 x 19 1/2 x 1 1/2 in. each by William Wood for USD 1,152.00 (€ 1,056.11). This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Contemporary Art | Bonhams Skinner at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,800.00 – 2,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Wood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Young Officer, In Red Coat With Blue Collar, Gold Epaulette And White Cross-Belt With Gold Plate, Black Cravat in July 2005 with an auction result of GBP 11,400.00 (€ 16,535.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Three Untitled Works on Paper each 15 x 11 1/2 in. (38.1 x 29.2 cm) framed 23 1/2 x 19 1/2 x 1 1/2 in. each von William Wood für USD 1.152,00 (€ 1.056,11) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art | Bonhams Skinner bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.800,00 – 2.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Wood erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Young Officer, In Red Coat With Blue Collar, Gold Epaulette And White Cross-Belt With Gold Plate, Black Cravat im Juli 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.400,00 (€ 16.535,59).
