Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Prayer Book) by Steve Wolfe was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2011. The price achieved of USD 25,000.00 (€ 17,626.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Steve Wolfe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ludwig Wittgenstein, The Blue And Brown Books (Preliminary Studies For The 'Philosophical Investigations'), which sold at auction in November 2004 for USD 52,580.00 (€ 39,656.08).

Die Arbeit Untitled (Prayer Book) von Steve Wolfe kam im März 2011 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 17.626,74) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Steve Wolfe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ludwig Wittgenstein, The Blue And Brown Books (Preliminary Studies For The 'Philosophical Investigations') beobachtet, die im November 2004 für USD 52.580,00 (€ 39.656,08) versteigert wurde.
