Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Steve Wolfe could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in November 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Untitled (L'Oeuvre) changed hands for USD 37,500.00 (€ 29,541.52) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Other works by Steve Wolfe have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2004 by the work Ludwig Wittgenstein, The Blue And Brown Books (Preliminary Studies For The 'Philosophical Investigations') at USD 52,580.00 (€ 39,656.08).
