Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Untitled (Literature And Evil: Georges Bataille) by Steve Wolfe. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 42,000.00 (€ 31,219.80) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Steve Wolfe have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2004 the work Ludwig Wittgenstein, The Blue And Brown Books (Preliminary Studies For The 'Philosophical Investigations') was auctioned for USD 52,580.00 (€ 39,656.08).

Im Mai 2007 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Literature And Evil: Georges Bataille) von Steve Wolfe zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 42.000,00 (€ 31.219,80) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
