The »bidding war« ended at USD 32,500.00 (€ 24,165.37), 63% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Steve Wolfe; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ludwig Wittgenstein, The Blue And Brown Books (Preliminary Studies For The 'Philosophical Investigations') sold at auction in November 2004 with the realized price of USD 52,580.00 (€ 39,656.08).
