Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2008 Phillips in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Part II, which included the work There Are No Explosives in This, Street Series by Shilpa Gupta. Here, the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 13,750.00 (€ 8,836.76). Admittedly, works by Shilpa Gupta have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Someone Else: A Library of 35 Books Written Anonymously or Under Pseudonyms in September 2016 with an auction result of USD 47,500.00 (€ 42,267.31).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2008 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit There Are No Explosives in This, Street Series von Shilpa Gupta zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 13.750,00 (€ 8.836,76) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shilpa Gupta auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Someone Else: A Library of 35 Books Written Anonymously or Under Pseudonyms im September 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 42.267,31).
