Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Manchester Airport by Shilpa Gupta was sold in the South Asian Modern+Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2009. It changed hands for a price of USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,126.45) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Shilpa Gupta have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Someone Else: A Library of 35 Books Written Anonymously or Under Pseudonyms in September 2016 with an auction result of USD 47,500.00 (€ 42,267.31).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Manchester Airport von Shilpa Gupta wurde im September 2009 in der Auktion South Asian Modern+Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.126,45) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00.
