Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2014 a collector was able to acquire this work without title by Shilpa Gupta for GBP 500.00 (€ 624.73). This price was achieved in the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shilpa Gupta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Someone Else: A Library of 35 Books Written Anonymously or Under Pseudonyms in September 2016 with an auction result of USD 47,500.00 (€ 42,267.31).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2014 konnte ein Sammler diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Shilpa Gupta für GBP 500,00 (€ 624,73) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shilpa Gupta erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Someone Else: A Library of 35 Books Written Anonymously or Under Pseudonyms im September 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 42.267,31).
