In April 2010 Phillips in London held the auction BRIC Theme Sale, which included the work There are No Borders Here by Shilpa Gupta. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,164.71), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shilpa Gupta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Someone Else: A Library of 35 Books Written Anonymously or Under Pseudonyms in September 2016 with an auction result of USD 47,500.00 (€ 42,267.31).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im April 2010 führte Phillips in London die Auktion BRIC Theme Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit There are No Borders Here von Shilpa Gupta zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.164,71) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shilpa Gupta erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Someone Else: A Library of 35 Books Written Anonymously or Under Pseudonyms im September 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 42.267,31).
