signed in pencil, annotated `XXIX' and titled in another hand, the 29th (final) state, the edition was 83, with strong, rich blacks, pressure mark along the inside margins, pale mat staining, occasional creasing and soiling in the margin, otherwise in very good condition, framed.

In January 2012 Phillips in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary Editions, which included the work Spanish Good Friday by David Muirhead Bone. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,351.72), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Muirhead Bone - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Soho Square, London, which sold at auction in June 2001 for GBP 5,287.50 (€ 8,783.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Januar 2012 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit Spanish Good Friday von David Muirhead Bone zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.351,72) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von David Muirhead Bone mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Soho Square, London beobachtet, die im Juni 2001 für GBP 5.287,50 (€ 8.783,59) versteigert wurde.
