In May this year Bonhams held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Ruins of the monastery, Sahagun, Spain; Night houses on the river, Gerona; Old houses on the river, Gerona; Market day, Gerona 27.5 x 36.4cm (10 13/16 x 14 5/16in) and smaller. (4) by David Muirhead Bone. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,186.78), 28% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by David Muirhead Bone have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Soho Square, London in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 5,287.50 (€ 8,783.59).

Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ruins of the monastery, Sahagun, Spain; Night houses on the river, Gerona; Old houses on the river, Gerona; Market day, Gerona 27.5 x 36.4cm (10 13/16 x 14 5/16in) and smaller. (4) von David Muirhead Bone zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.186,78) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Muirhead Bone auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Soho Square, London im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.287,50 (€ 8.783,59).
