Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Untitled (White Inner Band) by Mary Corse was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2019. It achieved a price of USD 287,500.00 (€ 263,640.53), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 15%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mary Corse - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (White/Black Inner Band Beveled), which sold at auction in December 2020 for HKD 5,000,000.00 (€ 527,391.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled (White Inner Band) von Mary Corse kam im September 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 287.500,00 (€ 263.640,53) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 15%. Für andere Arbeiten von Mary Corse mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (White/Black Inner Band Beveled) beobachtet, die im Dezember 2020 für HKD 5.000.000,00 (€ 527.391,66) versteigert wurde.
