Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art, which included the work Untitled (chevron trapezoid), 2005 by Mary Corse. Here, the upper estimate of USD 220,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 227,175.00 (€ 215,597.42). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mary Corse - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (White/Black Inner Band Beveled), which sold at auction in December 2020 for HKD 5,000,000.00 (€ 527,391.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (chevron trapezoid), 2005 von Mary Corse zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 220.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 227.175,00 (€ 215.597,42) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Mary Corse mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (White/Black Inner Band Beveled) beobachtet, die im Dezember 2020 für HKD 5.000.000,00 (€ 527.391,66) versteigert wurde.
