Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (White Inner Band) by Mary Corse was sold in the Contemporary Day Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 300,000.00 – 400,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 315,000.00 (€ 293,542.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Mary Corse have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2020 the work Untitled (White/Black Inner Band Beveled) was auctioned for HKD 5,000,000.00 (€ 527,391.66).
