Auction result well in line with expectations
In September last year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War to Present, which included the work Untitled (White Grid series) by Mary Corse. The price achieved of USD 226,800.00 (€ 231,830.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 180,000.00 – 250,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mary Corse - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (White/Black Inner Band Beveled), which sold at auction in December 2020 for HKD 5,000,000.00 (€ 527,391.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War to Present durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (White Grid series) von Mary Corse zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 226.800,00 (€ 231.830,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 180.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Mary Corse mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (White/Black Inner Band Beveled) beobachtet, die im Dezember 2020 für HKD 5.000.000,00 (€ 527.391,66) versteigert wurde.
